Leicht Wow With Corian
Leicht are renowned for their modern design and always manage to induce the wow factor in their designs. This kitchen designed by Showroom Manager & Project Designer Iren Brown is no exception. Along with other statement materials and colours, Iren has used Sparkling White Corian to showcase the mammoth island. We particularly love the mix of natural wood cladding and carbon grey cabinets which both mesh beautifully with stark white of the Corian dining area.
Island Proportions
The Sparkling White Corian Island really is the centre piece in this design. Iren opted for an 80mm thick fascia and large overhangs to accommodate the seating area on two sides, ensuring that the social aspect of the kitchen area is achieved. The beauty of Corian is that any thickness can be achieved and to a degree, with internal support, any overhang can also be planned for.
The client decided on a chunky slab end at one end of the island which has the dual purpose of additional support for the overhang and completing the linear look.
Grooves were channeled into the Corian to allow for LED lighting to be installed through the Corian seating area. The lighting effect can then be mirrored from that used above and below the cabinetry, shelving and ceiling plinth.
